Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) conducted the second edition of state skill competition in 15 institutes of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. The two-day event witnessed participation by 397 candidates in 41 skill trades. The valedictory ceremony was organised at the World Skills Centre, Bhubaneshwar, where the state’s Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced 133 winners after the final round. The winners will be trained for regional and national-level competitions.
A panel of 50 jury members was invited from across India to evaluate candidates in different skills. Premananda Nayak, Odisha’s Minister for Skill Development and Technical Education, Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary, Skill Development and Technical Education, and Subroto Bagchi, Chairman of OSDA congratulated the winners for their achievements and wished them luck for nationals, IndiaSkills 2021.
The winners of IndiaSkills Competition 2021 will get an opportunity to represent the country at the coveted WorldSkills Competition to be held in Shanghai, China in October 2022 and compete with over 1,400 participants from more than 60 countries. IndiaSkills 2021 will take place in December.
